When I began my career years ago, there wasn't a go-to resource in the donor relations space. I founded Donor Relations Guru in 2010 on the belief that donor relations is the key to unlocking fundraising success and that organizations must be as dedicated to the donor experience, or DX, as they are to the ask itself.  

 

Since then, I have led clients to be recognized on the national stage for fundraising innovation, creative communication, and groundbreaking donor relations work, and Donor Relations Guru has become an internationally recognized resource for samples, training, and thought leadership on donor relations and fundraising. 

 

I put my heart and soul into helping nonprofits discover the power of a great donor relations program—and I like to have a little fun along the way. I partnered with Rachel for this course because I knew with our combined knowledge, innovative approaches, and our shared good sense of humor we could create an easy to follow course that provides a step-by-step solution for one of the most common pain points in our industry.

Rachel Muir, CFRE

I’ve started and run my own nonprofit, raised over 10 million dollars and was featured on Oprah, CNN and the Today show.  I have helped thousands of fundraisers land big gifts, delight their donors, and love their jobs. 

I was born to unsuspecting parents in 1971 and told as a child that girls were not good at math or science.  That cost me a lot of opportunities, so I started a nonprofit in the living room of my apartment when I was 26 years old to empower girls in math, science, engineering and technology.  Back then the idea of asking a wealthy person for a big gift was as appealing as jumping out of an airplane but pretty soon I was confidently raising 6 figure gifts and we were funding our dreams.

It took a lot of inspiration and a truck-load of guts to get to where I am today.

I built this course with Lynne because I was sick and tired of people struggling with surveys and not finding a solution, and because I wanted people to know that there is a solution. Not a possible solution but a sure-shot, carved-in-stone solution.
