DEI WEBINAR SERIES PT. 2
MOVING FROM CONVERSATION TO ACTION
We began the tough conversations in 2021—challenging the status quo and exploring why DE&I is such a crucial topic for nonprofits to address. It was a learning experience for all of us—the DRG team included. We hope you took our discussions from Part 1 and began having the difficult conversations within your organization. Now, it's time to turn those conversations into action.
Join Lynne and Matthew as they dive into how to move from conversation to action and begin taking steps towards meaningful change at your organization. Learn strategies for attracting and retaining diverse talent, readjusting the scholarship impact experience, managing donors who don't support DEI efforts, and your role—as a donor relations professional—in incorporating inclusivity into all that you do.
These sessions can be purchased individually, or save $40 when you purchase the entire series.
Disclaimer: We are not certified DEI trainers, but we are fundraising and donor relations experts with a passion, education, and background in this work. Simply put, this work is deeply important to the DRG Group and we feel a responsibility to lead the charge for change in our industry. We are not perfect. We continue to learn and strive every day to be our better best—and we hope to inspire you to do the same.

In part one of this webinar series, we discussed the painful power dynamics between scholarship recipients and their donors. You can find that conversation here. Now that we’ve agreed upon the need to update our practices, what steps and actions are best? How do we level-set expectations and implement new measures and language for the future? Communicating the problem to peers, leadership, and across campus to build a shared understanding is essential. Even though we aren’t responsible for creating the conundrum, it is our responsibility to address the fundamental issues and work toward solutions in partnership with key stakeholders. Join us as we move from the conversation to conversion of processes to ensure healthy experiences for all.

From acknowledgments that recognize behavior over amount to stewardship reporting for all areas of giving, these efforts must be performed within an inclusive lens. And as we examine the art of donor relations in recognition and engagement, how do we make all feel welcome and valued at our organization? Join us as we tackle our departmental responsibility to set the standard. The work starts now.
Seesaws, Teeter Totters, and Tug o’ War
$60 | Recording Now Available
What happens when your organization fully commits to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), but some donors question the direction? How does your organization make progress when donors (especially those at the top of the pyramid) don’t share this commitment? In a time when nearly any position might be considered controversial, how do we best represent viewpoints that seem to be at odds with theirs? As organizations evolve, can we balance our need for funding with our core values? The DEI journey can be a bumpy one, often fraught with turmoil, and answers to many questions can elude us when resolutions are situational. How do we codify organizational values into our policies, and how do we know when to walk away? Join us in a healthy discussion and respectful debate as we share resources you can use to help guide your difficult decisions.
