Avery G. Howard

Avery G. Howard is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s, Herbert College of Agriculture. He began his career at UT in 2013 with the College of Arts and Sciences as a Development Assistant. In 2015, Avery joined the Office of Stewardship and Donor Relations as the Assistant Director of Stewardship. As of 2021 he serves as the Director of Stewardship, leading stewardship programs for donors across all levels and provides strategic direction in many areas of the Advancement operation to ensure a positive donor experience.

 

While learning the operations from the ground up, he took a great interest in endowment reporting. He has a keen concern for seeking out accurate information for donors. Avery works closely with many units across campus to ensure hundreds of endowments are utilized in a timely manner in accordance with donor intent. This brings him great joy, as he is able to see how donor support has a direct impact on faculty, staff, and students and is able to share this information back with donors to highlight how vital their support can be in transforming lives.

 

Avery is a native of Tennessee, growing up in the rural West TN town of Huntingdon. He earned his BS in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication. When not working he enjoys indoor cycling, spending time with loved ones, and traveling.
