Naming Fundamentals: Who, What, Why, & How

Welcome to the wild work of naming! In our industry, naming can take many shapes and forms and the responsibilities of our teams can cover everything from individual named funds, to physical donor recognition, named spaces, plaques, policies and so much more! Naming is a key activity in fundraising and doing it well (from gift agreement to public displays) significantly affects the donor experience. In this opening session, we will cover the primary pillars of naming, the various buckets of work it encompasses, set definitions, and get our feet steady under us as we begin to explore this wide body of work.
